Marco de Luca

Set designer. He hosts us in his hotel La Minervetta in Sorrento. "I don't call it a boutique hotel because it's actually the house where I live. There's an area that's just mine, but otherwise I love sharing paintings, artworks, drawings, and books with the guests who stay here," he explains. And then: "My mother, half Danish and half Sorrentine, introduced me to beauty. She loved architecture and design objects. When I started studying at the Domus Academy in Milan in the 1980s, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass, and Gaetano Pesce were teaching there. I became friends with Pesce and have hosted him several times here. He was happy that I had his works in the rooms." About his style, he says: "I love the color blue like the sea, I wear it every day because it allows me to blend with the surroundings, it makes me feel part of it."
